Baby Aven

Being privileged to watch a family grow is a beautiful gift.  Shanna and Brandon invited me to photograph them when they were glowing with expectation and awaiting the arrival of their sweet girl (click here to see that gorgeous sunset session!).  And then they invited me into their home to love on their beautiful baby girl and capture her sweet features in their brand-new softness – her lips, the fuzz on her shoulders, her tiny feet, her bright eyes…  Everything about our session was incredibly precious.

Shanna and Brandon are such a joy to photograph – they’re willing to do anything, they’re easy-going, they’re beautiful and funny (I love when my clients make me laugh!).  Watching them interact with little Aven in her brand-new-ness is so lovely – like morning sunshine peeking in a window.  They’re so in love with her and it just shines in their smiles.  They’re gentle and tender and sentimental…  Their home reflects them perfectly – a brightly painted front door and touches of “them” everywhere you look.  And seeing my photos of them on their walls… well, that’s such a joy for me!  My favorite touch – the quilt that was Shanna’s as a baby girl and was a gift from the fire fighters at her dad’s firestation.  Those details and memories are the best.
